Biopack-MBBR

The Biopack – MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) wastewater treatment system provides effective water purification by optimizing the biological treatment process with low energy consumption and high efficiency.

Biofilm-Based Treatment Technology with Yeditepe Arıtım

Biofilm technologies are becoming increasingly important in the biological removal of organic pollutants from wastewater. Biopack-MBBR systems are a dynamic and highly efficient treatment solution where microorganisms grow on special carrier surfaces. Developed by Yeditepe Arıtım, this system offers stable performance against variable flows, ensures energy savings, and stands out with its minimal space requirements.

Power of the Carrier-Based Biofilm Mechanism

In MBBR systems, the treatment process is carried out by bacteria that develop on freely moving biofilm carriers. These carriers remain in constant motion within the reactor, allowing the breakdown of organic matter. Compared to activated sludge, this setup provides a more stable process and enhances the system’s resistance to load fluctuations.

Facility Types Where Biopack-MBBR Systems Are Applied

Biopack-MBBR systems are preferred for use in areas with limited wastewater infrastructure such as hotels, housing complexes, resorts, mining sites, small settlements, and military camps. They can also be integrated into existing facilities to serve as auxiliary reactors to increase treatment capacity.

Adaptive and Low-Maintenance System Design

Biopack-MBBR offers operational ease with its modular structure free from mechanical complexity. Thanks to the self-renewing nature of the carrier media, sludge accumulation is minimal. The system’s automation-based control unit ensures maximum performance with minimal intervention. Its long-lasting components significantly reduce maintenance costs.

How Biopack-MBBR Works with Yeditepe Arıtım

The Biopack-MBBR system offers a continuous flow treatment process composed of physical and biological phases. Here is the general working principle of the system:

Physical Treatment Unit
Wastewater first passes through a screen and preliminary sedimentation system to remove large particles. This prevents the clogging of the carrier beds.
Biofilm Reactor
The filtered wastewater enters the biofilm reactor, which contains moving plastic carriers. Bacteria attached to these surfaces biologically break down the organic matter.
Aeration and Mixing
Continuous aeration inside the reactor provides oxygen to the bacteria and ensures even distribution of the carriers, increasing surface contact.
Final Sedimentation and Discharge
The treated water exits the reactor and flows into a sedimentation tank. Remaining biological residues settle at the bottom, while the purified water is discharged from the top into nature or directed for reuse.

Biopack-MBBR stands out with its low energy requirement, flexible design, and the stable treatment performance offered by biofilm technology. Produced under the assurance of Yeditepe Arıtım, these systems combine environmental responsibility with technology, bringing a modern treatment approach to the field.
